6th NATO Joint Air Power Strategy Drafting Workshop
Kalkar, 9 June 2017. JAPCC hosted the 6th NATO Joint Air Power Strategy drafting workshop from 6-9 June 2017. The need for a comprehensive strategy for the use of Joint Air Power stems from numerous sources, including the 2014 JAPCC Future Vector Project, the 2015 Joint Air Power Capabilities Study, and priority focus areas identified in both the 2014 and 2016 NATO Summits. The Strategy, using an ENDS-WAYS-MEANS approach, will address the use of Joint Air Power to support NATO’s 3 Core Tasks and other political objectives, will provide an enduring definition of Joint Air Power, and will provide a generic set of required joint air power capabilities intended to inform the NATO Defence Planning Process. This 6th and final workshop culminated two years of drafting, and the Draft Strategy is now proceeding through the staffing process.
