Joint Air & Space Power Network Meeting, 14-15 November 2017
Kalkar, 15 November 2017. The fourth annual “Joint Air and Space Power Meeting” was conducted at the JAPCC in Kalkar, Germany 14-15 November 2017. Participants included senior representatives from NATO HQ, Headquarters Allied Air Command (AIRCOM), the European Union Military Staff (EUMS), the European Air Group (EAG), European Air Transport Command (EATC), NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), and the Competence Centre for Surface-Based Air and Missile Defence (CC SBAMD) as well as the leadership of the JAPCC. Objectives of the JAPSN include improving overall awareness of each organization’s Focus Areas, informing the greater air power community about current programmes of work and ongoing projects, as well as establishing objectives for follow-on collaboration. The primary goal of the forum is to develop better synergies throughout the Air & Space Power community and continually seeking out potential areas for cooperation.
During the meeting, participants provided a synopsis of their current projects and discussed potential areas of cooperation in order to both resolve capability gaps and prevent duplication of effort. The JASPN’s forum was very beneficial, identifying areas for mutual cooperation and outlining ways for more efficient coordination of the various institutions’ projects. The chairman, JAPCC Assistant Director – Air Cdre Madelein Spit, encouraged continuous cooperation and engagement, and encouraged all attendees to leverage the collaborative forum specifically prepared for this community on the JAPCC sharepoint site.
