Maritime Air Coordination Conference (MACC) 2018
Kalkar, 23 May 2018. The JAPCC hosted the Maritime Air Coordination Conference. The Bi-SC Conference was co-chaired by Commander Maritime Air NATO and the Assistant Director of the JAPCC. The Conference is designed to focus on component integration at the Operational level. The theme of this year’s Conference was “Integration of Unmanned Air Systems into Maritime Operations”. This topic is of great interest throughout the NATO community and is also the focus of an ongoing joint study with contributions from the Confined Shallow Water (CSW) CoE in Kiel, DEU, the Combined Joint Operations from the Sea (CJOS) CoE in Norfolk, USA, and the JAPCC. Thirty one attendees from seven NATO commands and entities, including nine nations, contributed to sharing best practices, identified integration challenges and shortfalls, and created solutions to correct these issues.
The JAPCC looks forward to attend the next MACC in the spring of 2019 in the Northwood UK venue.
