Lieutenant Colonel Athanasios Sdrakas graduated from Hellenic Air Force (HAF) Academy with a BSc in Aeronautics in 2000.
He holds two MScs in International Affairs from Nicosia University of Cyprus and in Environmental, Disaster and Crises Management Strategies from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He initially served in the 348 Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, as a fighter pilot, from 2000-2009 and he had above 1000 flying hours at RF-4E aircraft. Thereafter, his assignment was at 364 Air Training Squadron, as an instructor pilot, from 2009-2022 and he had nearly 3000 flying hours at T-6A aircraft. He is a graduate of the Fighter Weapons School and of the Supreme Joint War College.
He is currently serving as the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) at the Joint Air Power Competence Centre.
