Training

We are committed to advancing NATO Joint Air and Space Power by delivering high-quality education and training that builds the knowledge, skills, and competencies for current and future operational demands. Through tailored learning opportunities, we support the continuous professional development of personnel across the Air and Space domains.

Our education and training efforts address real-world challenges, promote critical thinking, and reinforce doctrinal understanding. By fostering a culture of learning and intellectual readiness, we contribute directly to enhancing the effectiveness, adaptability, and resilience of NATO Joint Air and Space Power.

C-UAS Fundamentals Training Course

In support of NATO’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) capabilities, the Joint Air Power Competence Centre has developed a C-UAS Fundamentals Training Course tailored for the NATO C-UAS Community of Interest (COI). Starting in August 2025, the C-UAS Fundamentals Training Course is offered monthly to members across all ranks of the NATO C-UAS COI, including relevant law enforcement agencies and critical infrastructure stakeholders.

The course aims to raise drone awareness and provide a foundational understanding of the C-UAS problem. The curriculum currently includes lessons about drone operation tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP), drone threats throughout the spectrum of terrorism, espionage, sabotage, subversion, and organized crime (TESSOC), drone detection and relevant sensing methods, passive drone mitigation in peacetime and operations, active drone mitigation and relevant engagement methods, potential future UAS and C-UAS concepts, as well as C-UAS planning, including a tabletop planning exercise.
