Lieutenant Colonel Emiliano PELLEGRINI was commissioned in the Italian Army in 1990, when he was admitted to the Italian Army Military Academy. After five years of studies in the Academy was appointed as Mountain Artillery Officer where served for four years before to transit to the Italian Air Force schools both for fix and rotary wing. After the specialization and graduation to Italian Army Aviation school he was assigned to 5 th Regiment Attack Helicopter “RIGEL” where served as Squadron Commander and Operations Officer. During this period, he was qualified as Attack helicopter pilot with NVG (Night Vision Googles) and HIRNS (Helicopter Infrared Navigation System) licence. He has flown fixed wing SF-260, multirole helicopters AgustaBell-206, AgustaBell-205, as well as, the AgustaWestland A-129 “Mangusta” attack helicopter. From 2012 to 2016 was Commander of 34 Helicopters Group Squadron “TORO”, after then he had been assigned to NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) in G3-AIR Branch both as planning and operation officer. He has been deployed to the Balkans Peninsula (Kosovo), Middle East (Iraq, Geordan), and Central Asia (Afghanistan) as an aircrew member or/and operations officer. He is also qualified as mountain combat specialist, climbing and skiing instructor, airmobile instructor, LASER Security Officer. He is currently stationed at the JAPCC as the Attack Helicopter on Air-Land Operations Planning and Integration, Airborne, and Airmobile Operations SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the Combat Air Branch.
