Lt Col Zanier is an MB339 instructor pilot and Forward Air Controller with over 5,000 flight hours. He entered the Italian Air Force in January 1994 and completed the AMX training in 1997. His operational experience includes three deployments supporting Operation “Constant Forge” in Bosnia-Herzegovina, one supporting “ISAF XI” in Afghanistan and one supporting “EUNAVFOR MED” in Pantelleria, operative flights supporting Operation “Constant Guard”, TLP qualified and Red Flag participant. He was an AMX instructor at OCU in Amendola Air Force Base, a T-38 instructor at ENJJPT Sheppard Air Force Base, an MB-339 instructor at Galatina Air Force Base, and a graduate of the Staff Officer Course. He served two years in the Italian Air Force HQ in Rome before being posted to JAPCC.
